With your help, we can reach everyone who needs end of life care in the UK.

Thinking about setting up your Great Daffodil Appeal virtual collection? It’s a great alternative to in-person collecting if it’s not safe or convenient for you to get out there and meet people. Our collections might have been cancelled for the last few years, but the need for our services is greater than ever. Our nurses and hospices have been on the frontline throughout the pandemic, caring for dying people and supporting their families. We’ve also seen more people than ever calling our Support Line, looking for help because they’re feeling isolated or grieving a loved one without their usual support networks. Your virtual collection will help us push for better end of life care for all.

Your support means we can reach more people.

Why support Marie Curie

To answer that we’ll use the words of Kelly, one of our incredible supporters who raised money with a Great Daffodil Appeal virtual collection last year.

“‘I personally understand the importance of having support when loved ones are dying and the impact it can have on individuals and family members if they don’t get that support. I have lived with feelings of guilt, anger, frustration and confusion since losing my mum Denise seven years ago when she was just 46.

“Up until the very last day of her life we had minimal and inconsistent support. Her life slipped away from us and up until a couple of days before she died we hadn’t had clear conversations with anyone about her illness being terminal. I understand now more than ever how important those conversations are and what lasting effects they can have long after that person has died.

“This is why Marie Curie is so important, and why I decided to support them by setting up a virtual collection. When I started to receive donations it took me a couple of days to just take it all in. All the comments and lovely things people have said on my page were really heartfelt. It’s been quite an emotional journey.”
